Payroll Administrator
Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in the service industry, located in New Brighton, Minnesota. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be tasked with handling all aspects of payroll processing, including full cycle payroll, union reporting, and payroll tax compliance. Responsibilities: • Oversee the complete process of payroll management, from data entry to issuing payments. • Collaborate with HR and finance departments to integrate payroll data seamlessly. • Manage payroll adjustments, deductions, and withholdings, ensuring accurate payroll processing for all employees. • Maintain thorough employee payroll records, keeping track of changes in salaries, benefits, and other pertinent information. • Prepare reports to meet union requirements, including union dues, pension contributions, and other mandatory deductions. • Stay updated with payroll tax laws, regulations, and changes, ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements. • Manage all aspects of payroll tax compliance, including the accurate and prompt filing of federal, state, and local payroll tax returns. • Work on process improvement, streamlining payroll procedures, and enhancing payroll system functionality. • Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and adherence to payroll policies and procedures. • Prepare payroll reports and metrics for management and other stakeholders, analyzing payroll data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a payroll administration role • Proficiency in payroll processing • Experience with multi-state payroll management • Familiarity with both in-house and union payroll procedures • Thorough understanding of payroll taxes and related legislation • Proficient in payroll tax reporting • Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
