Job Summary
The Payroll Analyst will work closely with the Senior Payroll Analyst to ensure the efficient, accurate, and compliant administration of payroll processes. This role involves analyzing payroll data, resolving discrepancies, providing support for payroll audits and reporting and reviewing employee expense reports. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and familiar with payroll systems, labor laws, and acts as a liaison between Human Resources and Accounting to guarantee smooth payroll operations.
Responsibilities and Duties
+ Payroll Processing:
+ Help manage and process employee payroll accurately and on time, including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and overtime.
+ Review and approve employee expense reports.
+ Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws and tax regulations.
+ Data Analysis and Reporting:
+ Reviewing employee timesheets, ensuring accuracy of hours worked and any overtime.
+ Analyze payroll data for trends, errors, and inconsistencies.
+ Generate and distribute detailed payroll reports to management.
+ Prepare reports for external agencies, such as hour and wage reporting by state.
+ Compliance and Audit:
+ Conduct internal audits of payroll processes and data to ensure compliance.
+ Assist with external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
+ System Administration:
+ Maintain and update payroll systems, ensuring data integrity.
+ Troubleshoot payroll system issues and coordinate with IT or vendors for resolutions.
+ Employee Support:
+ Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax forms.
+ Resolve payroll discrepancies and provide timely communication.
+ Process Improvement:
+ Identify opportunities to enhance payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy.
+ Implement best practices and new payroll technologies.
Qualifications and Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
+ At least 2 years of experience in payroll administration, analysis, or a related role.
+ Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paycom) and Excel.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
+ Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, tax regulations, and benefits administration.
