Your role and responsibilities
As part of the Payroll and Time & Attendance Strategy Programme, you will work closely with the core Project Team, which includes technical, functional, and project governance workstreams. This team comprises both ABB-internal resources and external experts. The regional focus for this role will be the APAC region.This role reports directly to the Payroll and Time & Attendance Program Head.The preferred locations for the role are China, Singapore, Malaysia or Australia.- Solution Implementation: Implement and deploy payroll and time solutions across countries with accuracy, quality, cost-effectiveness, and within project timelines.- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders from various functions, including Country HR services, Finance, Treasury, Internal Controls, HRIS, IS, Business teams, in-country time admins, and colleagues from GBS.- System Integration: Collaborate with multiple systems such as SAP, Workday, 3rd party payroll systems like ADP/Strada, and 3rd party T&A systems like UKG/Infor.- Change Management and Compliance: Own and deliver required changes throughout the project lifecycle by liaising with stakeholders. Ensure compliance with group and external legal and regulatory requirements, engaging with internal control and related teams.- Project and Vendor Management: Provide leadership for deployed solutions, manage risks, and ensure alignment with defined standards. Manage vendors to deliver solutions on time, within budget, and with high quality.- Design, Testing, and Support: Stay updated on design throughout the project lifecycle, work closely with the test team to define testing strategies and scripts, and maintain stakeholder connections for system enhancements and support. Define data migration strategies and collaborate with the data team to resolve issues promptly.
Qualifications for the roleExperience: Overall 15+ years of experience, with approx 10+ years in Payroll and Time solution deployment as a solution architect or implementation lead.Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in Payroll and time configuration on SAP (payroll configuration, payroll driver/schema, PCR, cluster tables, time configuration, time evaluation schema, etc.).Workday Expertise: Hands-on experience with Workday related to HCM, compensation, payroll, and time modules. Strong understanding of payroll integrations (PECI, PECI-Timeoff, APIs, Workday Studio, and EIBs) from Workday to 3rd party systems.Project Management: Proven project management experience with strong knowledge of project methodology and HR processes. Experience in project delivery, including setting direction, planning, governance, quality assurance, and working with global partners like ADP, Strada, UKG, Benify, Darwin, etc.Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Confident, passionate, and resilient with a detail and solution-oriented approach.Collaboration: Ability to build relationships and work effectively across various teams, geographies, and cultures, as well as independently.Agile Experience: Awareness and experience working in an agile environment and in a decentralized and matrix organization.
