Overview OIG is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Administrator to oversee and manage the company's compensation and benefits plans and policies. The position will support OIG and its subsidiaries with team members located at its headquarters in Oneida, New York, as well as at customer sites throughout the US and, potentially, internationally. The position will report to OIG's Director of People & Culture and work in close consultation with leaders of the various OIG business units. The role will oversee weekly payroll for approximately 300-350 team members, ensuring that everyone is compensated accurately and on time. This includes administering and processing timekeeping records, Federal and state tax withholdings, 401k/retirement account deductions, health & welfare contributions, expense reimbursement, and union pension, dues, and retirement account contributions. The position will play a key role in onboarding new hires as it pertains to payroll (e.g. account setup, gathering team member information such as bank account/routing numbers required for direct deposit, tax forms, etc.) and benefits enrollment. The role will also administer annual benefits open enrollment, coordinating with insurance providers as required and providing team members with applicable information such as guidebooks, plan comparisons, forms, and other benefits-related info. The role will maintain applicable team member records and ensure our payroll system and benefits programs comply with applicable regulatory requirements. Responsibilities + Process weekly payroll and ensure all team member paychecks reflect the correct wage, tax withholding, deductions, etc. + Maintain team member payroll and historical compensation records. + Collect required data from new team members, such as confirmation of citizenship (e.g. I-9), SSN, tax withholding forms, and payment details. + Ensure payroll systems and benefits programs and processes are in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. + Issue clear and timely communication regarding any changes to OIG's payroll or benefits plans, processes, or structures. + Collaborate with our recruiting team to facilitate onboarding new hires and provide support to the recruitment process as required. + Other HR generalist duties as assigned such as updating and maintaining job descriptions, preparing various performance reports, etc. Qualifications + Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resource management (preferred), business administration, social sciences, or equivalent. + 2+ years of experience as a Payroll and Benefits Administrator or similar role. Experience with either ADP (payroll processing) and Unanet (timekeeping) a plus. + Proficiency in MS Office suite. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Knowledge of payroll and state/federal tax laws and withholding requirements. + Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
