Payroll Clerk
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in Dearborn, Michigan. The role involves meticulous maintenance of payroll records, processing of time inputs and other related tasks in an office environment. This position is instrumental in the smooth functioning of our team and requires a strong understanding of payroll processes. Responsibilities: • Accurately process time inputs for payroll on a regular basis • Ensure all payroll data is kept up-to-date and organized • Respond to payroll-related inquiries in a timely manner • Closely monitor payroll accounts and perform necessary adjustments • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and accurate payroll processing • Utilize payroll software to manage payroll operations effectively • Maintain confidentiality of payroll information • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations concerning payroll • Resolve any discrepancies in payroll records • Assist in other administrative tasks as required. Requirements • Applicants must possess strong knowledge and experience in payroll processing. • Proficiency in using payroll software is required. • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail are essential. • The ability to manage deadlines and multiple tasks simultaneously is necessary. • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, are needed. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, is expected. • Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements is required. • A high level of confidentiality and discretion is mandatory. • The ideal candidate should have excellent problem-solving abilities. • Applicants should be able to work independently as well as part of a team. • It is necessary to have strong organizational and time management skills. • Experience with data entry and record keeping is important. • Understanding of basic accounting principles is preferred. • Prior experience in a similar role or relevant field is advantageous. • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
