Payroll Clerk
Description Robert Half is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our clients team in Hollywood who are in the entertainment industry. The ideal candidate will assist in processing payroll, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. While six months of payroll experience is preferred, we welcome candidates with a strong willingness to learn and grow in the role. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Support: + Assist in processing bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees using payroll systems. + Verify and input employee time records, ensuring accuracy and completeness. + Support the calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions as needed. Compliance and Documentation: + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws. + Maintain and update payroll records and employee information, including tax forms and direct deposit details. + Assist in preparing payroll-related reports for management. Employee Assistance: + Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, pay statements, and related matters. + Help employees understand deductions and other payroll components. General Administrative Support: + Perform routine clerical tasks, such as filing, data entry, and document organization. + Assist with special projects or tasks related to payroll as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in accounting or business is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience in payroll or a related administrative role preferred. Skills: + Basic understanding of payroll processes and regulations. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. + Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. + Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with payroll systems such as ADP or similar platforms. + Familiarity with timekeeping systems and basic accounting principles.
