Our client is an innovative and fast-growing company in the tech industry, committed to creating cutting-edge solutions while maintaining a supportive and inclusive work environment. They are seeking a Payroll Clerk to join their finance team and ensure smooth and accurate payroll processing for their growing workforce.
The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining accurate employee records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling confidential information with the utmost professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Process biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
+ Verify timesheets, attendance records, and overtime calculations.
+ Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates or benefits.
+ Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments.
+ Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
+ Prepare and distribute payroll reports for internal and external use.
+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
+ Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions.
+ Assist with year-end payroll tasks, such as W-2 preparation and tax filings.
+ Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll and employee record management.
Requirements
+ Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role.
+ Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Gusto, or similar platforms).
+ Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
+ Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in other office software.
+ Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
