The Payroll Coordinator is a critical member of the Next 150 Construction Team

 

The ideal candidate has a background in a construction payroll with the union and/or prevailing wage construction environment.

 

In this role Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for all daily activities supporting the payroll team, with timesheets and other related activities relating to the union and prevailing wage payrolls. Additionally, the Payroll Coordinator will assist in the payroll process to ensure all timecards and employees are processed timely and accurately.

Responsibilities Assist in maintaining, organizing, and updating employee filing systems, including master files.Process/produce weekly labor reports, Certified Payroll reports (CPR), payroll reports, union reports, prevailing wage reports and other management reports as requested.Time collection, manage contact list and audit for weekly payroll process.Review field hours daily/weeklyAssist with verifying and entering payroll timesheets, including any exceptions such as overtime, personal time, sick time, vacation time, etc.Assist with reconciling timesheets payroll data for non-exempt employees, validate employee pay rates and changes and resolve any payroll discrepancies.Address Timesheet related inquiries and requests from employeesGain understanding of the Union and Prevailing Wage.Assist with preparing information as requested for audits.Partner with corporate payroll to research and resolve general payroll questions.Perform other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the business. Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent required1-3 years of office experience, payroll or human resources preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Proficiency in Windows based applications and payroll systemsAble to prioritize between multiple tasks, maintain confidentialityAttention to detail and ability to learn quicklyStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to provide superior customer service in a fast-paced environment where strict deadlines need to be metOutstanding team player with good interpersonal skills who can work effectivity with staff throughout the companyConstruction Union/Prevailing Wage payroll familiarity, preferred.

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.    
For Providence, RI this ranges from $55,000.00-$62,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
