The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of assigned payrolls in a multi company environment.  Accurately process the pay of employees in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, such as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) rules and regulations.  Must be familiar with multi state, county, local and school district withholding taxes. The Payroll Coordinator works under the general direction of the Payroll Director.

 

It is highly desired the candidate live within driving distance of the Greenville SC office but not required.

Salary Range: $55-$65K 

Responsibilities Processes bi-weekly payrolls with varying pay dates and arrearages. Uses computer and various software programs to input, maintain, research, and retrieve informationEnsure proper payment of wages and salaries by using the UKG payroll system to correctly process salaries and reported hours worked, correctly utilize paid time off and verify the calculation of overtime while meeting strict processing deadlinesCalculates adjustments for back payProcess withholding ordersReviews employee-initiated changes/additions to Federal, State, County, Local and School District withholding, address and direct deposit transactions to assure entries are complete and to determine if additional compliance issues need to be addressed due to the entriesPerform data entry as requiredAssist in creating off cycle manual check/direct deposits, adjustment payroll transactions, stop payments and other transactions as requiredProvides backup to other members of the payroll team as neededAddress issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiorsPerforms other related duties or projects as assigned Qualifications Two years or more of proven experience as Payroll Coordinator Proficient in MS Office. Must have intermediate skills in ExcelOutstanding organizational ability with great attention to detailExcellent communication and time management skillsHigh school diploma.
