Payroll Coordinator
Payroll Coordinator Salt Lake City, UT Description The Payroll Coordinator at Wheeler Machinery is responsible for all activities related to the accurate and timely processing of payroll. These activities include, but are not limited to, processing the weekly and biweekly payrolls, maintaining employee records, and reconciling payroll benefits. **Duties & Responsibilities:** + Process multi-state payroll for multiple companies on a weekly and biweekly basis. + Process off-cycle and post only checks, as needed. + Adhere to union contract as it pertains to payroll. + Adhere to federal, state, and local laws. + Keep current with federal, state, and local laws. + Ensure compliance with wage garnishments. + Reconcile retirement, FSA, and HSA contributions each payroll. + Reconcile voluntary benefit deductions each month. + Compile union pension reports each month. + Answer payroll related questions in a timely and professional manner. + Administer leave of absence programs. + Maintain employee data and records. + Maintain and reconcile paid leave records. + Collaborate with HR and Benefits to ensure accuracy of benefit deductions. + Maintain a high level of confidentiality. + Complete employee verification requests. + Partner with accounting to resolve any payroll general ledger questions. + Provide back-up for essential functions of manager. + Performs all other duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** + 3 - 5 years of related payroll experience. + Knowledge of payroll concepts (garnishments, tax laws, final pay rules, etc..). + High level of accuracy and attention to detail. + Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. + Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. + Strong analytic and problem-solving skills. + Comfortable in a growing organization with shifting organizational needs. + Can work independently. + Can maintain confidentiality. + Self-Starter + Organized + Intermediate accounting + Advanced Excel __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
