A payroll administrator is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of an organization's payroll process, including accurately calculating employee earnings, deductions, and benefits, ensuring timely paychecks are issued, and maintaining compliance with relevant employment laws, all while upholding data confidentiality and maintaining detailed records. \nKey responsibilities of a payroll administrator:\nPayroll processing: Calculating gross pay, processing deductions like taxes, health insurance, and retirement contributions, and generating paychecks. \nData entry: Entering employee time and attendance data into the payroll system. \nCompliance management: Staying updated on federal and state payroll regulations and ensuring the company adheres to them. \nRecordkeeping: Maintaining accurate payroll records, including employee information, pay rates, and deductions. \nBenefit administration: Managing employee benefit deductions and coordinating with benefits providers. \nIssue resolution: Addressing payroll discrepancies, resolving employee queries regarding paychecks, and investigating payroll issues. \nReporting: Generating payroll reports for management and tax authorities. \nTax filing: Preparing and submitting payroll tax returns to relevant agencies. \nSystem administration: Utilizing payroll software to manage payroll functions and updates. \nRequired skills for a payroll administrator:\nAttention to detail: High level of accuracy to ensure correct payroll calculations. \nNumerical skills: Proficiency in basic math and calculations. \nData entry skills: Ability to input data accurately and efficiently into payroll systems. \nCompliance knowledge: Understanding of employment laws related to payroll, including federal and state regulations. \nProblem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve payroll issues. \nCommunication skills: Clear communication with employees regarding payroll inquiries. \nOrganizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
