Payroll Coordinator

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the manufacturing industry, based in Fort Worth, Texas. We are in search of a Payroll Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be expected to handle a variety of tasks related to payroll processing and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process weekly in-house payroll
• Maintain and update employee data and payroll records as required
• Ensure the accuracy of regular and overtime hours
• Verify craft classes and pay rates for accuracy
• Keep track of salary adjustments, vacation, and applicable sick time
• Prepare and submit all payroll tax returns in a timely manner
• Ensure accuracy in all tax deposits
• Participate in year-end payroll tasks such as tax rate changes, W-2’s, ACA forms, etc.
• Update employee deductions for the new calendar year
• Perform payroll verifications and certifications as needed
• Timely remit child support and garnishment payments
• Prepare and distribute weekly Certified Payroll reports
• Resolve pay issues through research and analysis
• Reconcile insurance billings accurately between payments and deductions
• Support year-end financial statement audit activities
• Uphold department confidentiality and operate with the highest standards of integrity and discretion
• Maintain a thorough understanding of company payroll policies and procedures
• Stay updated with current trends, best practices, regulations, and laws that impact the payroll function
• Assist the Accounting Supervisor and Controller with special projects
• Make recommendations to improve operational efficiency and accuracy. Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role is essential.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.
• Demonstrated experience in Auditing is essential.
• Understanding of Benefit Functions within the payroll process is necessary.
• Experience with 'Sage 300' accounting software is desirable.
• Prior experience in the Construction Industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of Multistate Payroll procedures is required.
• Understanding of Special Payroll Deductions is necessary.
