Ibotta is looking for a Payroll Manager to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. The Payroll Manager will lead the function within our growing team and be accountable for all aspects of the payroll process from time tracking to processing to reporting. The ideal candidate has independently run all things payroll within Workday at a fast-growing, dynamic company and thrives on opportunities to problem solve and create efficiencies.
What you will be doing:
Manage and develop the Payroll Team; act as a mentor to other people team members in area of expertise.
Oversee multi-state payroll processing for approximately 900+ employees (exempt & non-exempt) on a bi-weekly basis, including time entry, garnishments, flexible time off (FTO), bonuses, benefits and 401K deductions.
Own payroll taxes for the organization, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Ensure the processing of new hires, promotions, and terminations in an accurate and timely manner.
Partner with HR/Payroll system vendor OSV to ensure correct tracking and reporting of local, state and federal requirements.
Work closely with accounting to generate all payroll-related data, including for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
Ensure payroll information is accurate through review and audit and completion of all payroll reconciliations on a bi-weekly basis.
Partner with equity team to execute RSU settlement in a timely and compliant manner.
Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits, and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.
Own the technical set-up and accurate maintenance of HR/Payroll system, including successful integrations, benefits, wages and FTO plans.
Own registration process for new state tax compliance.
Lead special projects, as needed, and stay abreast of industry trends.

What we are looking for:
5-7 years of payroll experience required; with at least 2 years experience as an inhouse payroll processor
At least 2 years experience managing direct reports within a payroll function
Experience with Workday required, as well as deep understanding of payroll tax laws
CPP a plus
Must have demonstrated ability to multitask, be detail oriented, and provide excellent customer service
Excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to investigate and identify system issues and problems
Strong interpersonal skills and experience leading a team
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, including report writing skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Able to organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner
Strategic thinker for growing organization
Ability to maintain confidential information
Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
Additional experience in benefit administration or other HRIS administration is a bonus.

This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, Employee Stock Purchase Program, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, bagel Thursdays, snacks and occasional meals.
Base compensation range: $110,000-$134,000. Equity is included in overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
