The Payroll Manager oversees the organization’s entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely preparation, distribution, and reporting of wages, overtime, taxes, and deductions in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
The Payroll Manager, leadership role will involve collaborating with HR, Finance, and other departments to align operations with organization objectives and drive continuous improvements. The Payroll Manager will focus on delivering exceptional customer service by ensuring clear and timely communication with employees and promptly resolving payroll-related inquiries to all stakeholders. The role will report to the Sr. Director of Accounting.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the full cycle payroll process for North America and international employees, including payroll tax reporting, tax compliance, tax remittance and stock compensation Drive best practices and process optimization as the subject matter expert in various payroll projects including process documentation and improvements, system changes, integrations, and implementations Ensure processing of new hires, tranfers, promotions and terminations are accurate on on-time Effectively resolve any payroll-related issues as they arise Provide leadership in the coordination and implementation of the Payroll and HRIS systems including time and attendance system Ensure adherence to tax regulations and reporting as well as compliance of Sarbanes-Oxley Critically review and analyze payroll processes in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best practice operations Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports; including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end Communicate actively with Operations, Finance, HR and Benefits to review cross-departmental impact and reconcile data sharing Establish and implement consistent payroll policies processes and procedures across the company Document workflow and standard operating procedures Review and process expense reports Manage and work cross functionally on audits such as 401K, workers Comp and financial audits Manage payroll staff Other duties as assignedSkills & Experience:
5+ years of cumulative experience with US hourly and salaried payroll processing in multi-state and multi-entity Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or relevant years of experience required International payroll experience ADP payroll/KRONOS experience strongly preferredIdeal candidates will also have:
Experience implementing new payroll platform a plus. CPP certification Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Ability to communicate effectively with others Able to work in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and accuracy.A reasonable estimate of the base salary compensation range is $119,000 to $185,000 per year, cash bonus, and stock options.
