Payroll Manager Job Locations US-MA-Acton ID 2024-15115 Overview

NQA/Unitek @ Kiwa, an Element affiliate, is looking for an individual with strong analytical, organizational, and technical problem-solving skills to join our Finance Department as a Payroll Manager to manage US payroll functions. In this role, you will help with all aspects of the payroll function, using ADP’s hosted payroll services platform, Workforce Now.

You must have knowledge of US Payroll requirements / compliance by State, Prevailing Wage, ADP payroll practices, design, integration, and reporting requirements; customer service experience; and a successful track record of managing payroll solutions.  

 

Responsibilities Manage and process weekly and bi-weekly payroll, providing leadership and oversight to the functionProvide timely and accurate payroll payments for all employees in a multi-state environment, including approved regular pay, bonuses, prevailing wage compensation, overtime, etc.Create audit procedures (such as analytics, monitoring controls, etc.) as necessary to review wages and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payrollIdentify and offer recommendations for improvements in processes, systems, and procedures to ensure department effectivenessProvide consultative services to HR leadership on issues relating to employee pay and bonusesEnsure appropriate earnings and deductions are configured in ADPPrepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, new hires/terminations, accounting reports, etc., Provide management, regulatory agencies, and service providers with reports and data as requestedResolve all payroll issues with ADP supportStay current on ADP payroll system updates and training to ensure the highest return on investment for payroll systemSupport annual HR events for change and/or optimizations related to reports or integrations (i.e., open enrollment, merit, bonus, recruiting)Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process in the USPays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accountsMaintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping confidential informationMaintains payroll staff by recruiting, counseling and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job resultsPrepare and balance period-end reports, and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statementsCompile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to payAssist with payroll and benefits components of annual budgetingAssist with other basic accounting tasks, as needed and as bandwidth allows

 

Skills / Qualifications

 

Demonstrated ability to partner with key internal stakeholders, including operations, Finance, IT, and HRAbility to provide strategic leadership, process improvement, program management, and quality customer service across the organizationProven track record of optimizing payroll process using ADP Workforce Now PlatformExperience in translating functional payroll requirements into appropriate design documentation and system specification developmentStrong technical problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot complex issuesGood verbal and written communication skillsStrong planning, scheduling, and organization skillsConflict resolution for dealing with disputesBachelor’s degree preferredPayroll transition (change in providers) preferred5+ years of ADP payroll configuration and processing experience strongly preferred5+ years of recent payroll processing experience in a multi-state environment5+ years Payroll software application experience with strong preference for ADP experienceCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
