Kforce has a client in Reston, VA that is seeking a Payroll Manager. Responsibilities: * Payroll Processing: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for 4,500+ employees, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax laws, wage laws, and company policies * UKG System Management: Manage and optimize the UKG payroll system for efficient payroll execution, troubleshoot system issues, and collaborate with the HRIS team for any necessary upgrades or system changes * Compliance: Ensure adherence to all government contracting compliance requirements, including but not limited to prevailing wage laws, Davis-Bacon Act, Service Contract Act, and other government contract labor regulations * Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a small team of payroll professionals, providing guidance and training as needed * Audits and Reporting: Lead the preparation of payroll-related reports, including quarterly tax filings, year-end reports (W-2s), and other reports required for auditing and compliance purposes * Employee Inquiries: Address employee payroll inquiries, resolve issues related to pay discrepancies, deductions, and taxes, and ensure employees are supported in a timely and professional manner * Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams to ensure proper integration of payroll with other business systems, benefits administration, and financial reporting * Process Improvement: Continuously assess payroll processes, recommend improvements, and implement best practices to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of the payroll function * Payroll Tax Filing: Ensure timely and accurate submission of federal, state, and local payroll tax filings, including quarterly and annual filings, and handle any related tax correspondence * Maintain Payroll Records: Ensure proper retention of payroll records, adherence to legal requirements, and regular audits of employee payroll data
