The company is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Manager.
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of multiple business locations that include 900+ employees’ weekly, bi-weekly payroll and reconciling of timecards. The Payroll Manager will perform various journal entries, account reconciliations and provide General Ledger support. Coordinating the maintenance of individual payroll records, payroll distribution, preparation of year-end tax forms, and Social Security reports will be required. Payroll processing will include multiple pay types, including bonus and commission structures within domestic and international (Canadian) payrolls.
ResponsibilitiesThe Payroll Manager will serve as the liaison with other departments, units, or locations in the resolution of payroll problems involving recommending changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the payroll function. This position will supervise up to four (4) direct reports. In addition to overseeing corporate payroll operations, this person will partner with the necessary resources to establish best practices and build an internal structure that supports paying employees and serving as a single point contact for corporate payroll communication and research. In this role the individual will partner in managing products and services provided by ADP (Payroll, Timekeeping and HRIS) and UKG, which may include implementing payroll system upgrades/enhancements.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Directs the preparation and filing of required reports and/or payments to insurance carriers, other organizations and individual employees.Oversees the maintenance of earnings and deductions records by updating salaried employee payroll records/rate changes.Ensures that all taxes, Social Security contributions, contributions to employee benefit programs and other deductions are withheld from individual paychecks.Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductions.Process bi-weekly transfer of payroll data which includes the review and approval of payroll deductions.Must be able to prepare payroll reports and comply with federal and state tax withholding requirements.Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner.Must be able to interface with various levels of personnel within the company and work well in a team environment.Balance and post payroll journals, resolving any discrepancies.Process union/nonunion fringe reports.Balance W-2 forms and taxes for all affiliates and divisions.Prepare and check monthly general ledger journal entries.Process commission payments and vacation checks.Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.Issues written and oral payroll instructions.Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficient of subordinates.Must be able to enter overtime earnings, gross pay, deductions, required withholding and net earnings.Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.Knowledge

Associates degree in related fields such as Accounting, Business or Finance. Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible payroll processing experience. Substantial ADP experience.Experience with UKG software a plusCPP certification preferred, but not required.Material Handling/manufacturing company is preferred, but not required.Supervision responsibility of three (3) Payroll Assistants.ADP©, ADP©, WorkforceNow and ADP© ADP EzLabor Manager experience a must.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Must be able to process direct deposits, 401(k), garnishments and employment verifications.Must maintain current on Payroll system to achieve alignment and ensure effective accounting support.Demonstrated Physical Abilities
Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.
