Description
A multi-billion dollar financial services company located near Sayreville, NJ, is looking to add a Payroll Manager to their team. This is a hybrid position.
• Set-up new states and new earnings, deduction and accumulator codes as needed
• Manage and process all multi-jurisdictional, payrolls in a timely manner on both a bi-weekly and semi-monthly basis.
• Process payroll tax notices, unemployment claims, and wage garnishments
• Track and pay taxable fringe benefits according to applicable programs
• Participate in audits or rate cases by providing payroll related data and process information
• Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Prepare spreadsheets, reports, billing reconciliation for all payroll and deduction related items on a monthly, annual or ad hoc basis
• Partner with Accounting and Tax groups on monthly and annual project billing updates, costing, reporting and allocations.
• Assist in development and implementation of payroll practices, policies and procedures
• Responsible for Journal Entry Downloads and preparing accounting transactions and documents as needed. Prepare year-end accruals for Accounting Department
• Point of escalation for complex payroll matters and responsible for root cause analysis and problem-solving solutions.
• Track, calculate and pay special, ad hoc and quarterly bonuses
• Manages payroll compliance along with HR to ensure compliance in both state and federal jurisdictions to include filings, employee updates, new forms, employee communications, etc.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have
• Have at least 5+ years of payroll processing/work experience, including multi-site/state payroll processing
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, or another related field, or any similar combination of education and experience
• Have knowledge of 401k rules/regulations
• Have effective communication skills, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
• Are self-motivated, results-driven, prefer to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Are able to prioritize workload with strong attention to detail
• Are experienced and have strong current knowledge with ADP Workforce Now / Time and Attendance
• Have strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Suite
• Have excellent organization skills; demonstrate thoroughness to ensure quality work
• Are knowledgeable of current compensation rules and tax regulations such as Federal, FICA, State, and Local withholdings
• Demonstrate strong financial & analytical acumen
• Demonstrate Strategic thinking skills by implementing innovative and automated processes, allowing for improved efficiency and collaboration, and supporting the various divisions cross-functionally across the organization.
• You are a team player, collaborative, and passionate about improving business performance.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills is required
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) would be helpful
• Familiarity ADP Run and Insperity Payroll System would be helpful
