About the Role:
We are seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee back-office HR administrative tasks and payroll processing in collaboration with our dedicated PEO team. This role requires a tech-savvy professional with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Process semi-monthly and weekly Union payroll (prevailing wage) using Insperity and handle monthly Union reporting.
+ Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports to ensure prevailing wage law compliance and support audit defense when needed.
+ Maintain accurate payroll records (wage rates, hours worked, deductions, and fringe benefits).
+ Ensure timely and accurate certified payroll submissions to minimize compliance risks.
+ Collaborate with the VP of Finance to reconcile payroll discrepancies and assist in financial audits.
+ Stay current with wage law updates and reporting requirements to maintain compliance.
+ Coordinate benefits open enrollment annually with our PEO.
+ Oversee new hire onboarding and terminations.
+ Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance payroll and HR efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
+ Experience: 5+ years of payroll leadership experience, Union payroll experience required. Experience with government-funded projects, municipal contracts, or school construction is a plus.
+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in Payroll software (e.g., Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, ADP) and MS Excel.
+ Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to resolve complex payroll issues.
+ Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Integrity: High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.
