We are looking for a Payroll Manager to lead our payroll functions. The selected candidate will work to ensure our payroll expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time. A large part of this role is to supervise our payroll team and liaise with other professionals. The pay scale for this position is 110K-135K, based on qualifications and experience. 

 

Your Role:

Overseeing the process of timely and accurate weekly, biweekly, and monthly multi-state, non-union, and union payrolls for Tetra Tech subsidiaries Managing a team of 3-4 payroll administrators Reviewing payrolls and transmitting payroll files to ADP on weekly/biweekly basis Adhering to payroll best practices, guidelines, and procedures Recommending automation and improvement on payroll related processes Coordinating timekeeping (Oracle Time and Labor) and payroll systems Overseeing the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises) Reviewing manual checks and wires Being the integral part during conversions and acquisitions Ensuring compliance with relevant federal, state, and local laws Supervising and coaching team members Coordinating with auditors on SOX, internal, and external audits Coordinating testing on new extensions, system upgrades, new calculation set ups, projects, and data analyses Working together with Human Resources (HR) and Accounting teams to reconcile discrepancies Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for audits Resolving issues and answering payroll-related questions Escalating complex questions to Payroll Director Coordinating Workers Compensation and Multiple Work Site location reports on a quarterly basis Coordinating SUI rate changes, updating and investigating ADP charges to the rates on ADP invoices for accuracy Assisting to resolve any tax variances presented by the payroll tax accountant Coordinating quarter and year end activities Working with IT on testing new processes and interfaces Professional and timely customer service to internal, external, and third parties

 

Qualifications:

Proven 3+ years of experience as a payroll manager processing over 5000+ employees Multistate payroll experience is required Proven leadership experience Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws Familiarity with payroll software ADP Vantage or WFN, ADPR reporting Ability to work with others, cross-functionally and build relationships in a team environment Experience in system implementations Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships Outstanding communication skills (written and oral) Organizational and leadership skills Knowledge of labor and payroll tax laws BSC/BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or a related field CPP designation is required Understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and union contracts Strong excel and analytical skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks and projects effectively
