Payroll Processor
Job Title: Payroll Processor Job Description Under general supervision, the payroll processor will be responsible for performing all activities necessary to assist in the processing of one or more payrolls. The role involves auditing, reconciling, and processing information received from the field, analyzing payroll reports, and processing weekly and salary payrolls. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate recordkeeping and excellent customer service while maintaining corporate data entry and meeting processing deadlines. Responsibilities + Audit, reconcile, and process information received from the field to ensure accuracy. + Analyze payroll reports to ensure accurate recordkeeping. + Process weekly and salary payrolls, including reviewing edits, printing checks, and posting journal entries to ensure accurate payments to employees. + Responsible for all corporate data entry to ensure accuracy. + Meet weekly and monthly processing deadlines in payroll to ensure excellent customer service. + Process a variety of recordkeeping functions in a computerized system to ensure accurate reporting. + Provide impeccable overall customer service to exceed employees’ expectations. + Provide general information and answer all employee and field inquiries in an informed and courteous manner; perform online inquiries in the payroll system to access detailed information for employees and field representatives. + Perform diverse clerical tasks as necessary to assist the department manager. + Participate in cross-training efforts to provide growth opportunities within the department. + Collect, review, and submit certified payroll reports through LCP Tracker and DIR. + Maintain updated backup files, perform compliance audits, troubleshoot payroll issues, and keep current with labor laws and union agreements. + Submit labor compliance documents as required and ensure timely weekly and monthly payroll processing deadlines are met. + Coordinate daily activities with the lead or supervisor and perform diverse clerical tasks as needed. Essential Skills + Experience with processing 100+ timecards a week. + Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. + 10-key by touch. + Experience with payroll software such as Oracle or similar. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. + Superior customer service skills. + Ability to work overtime as needed. + Proven experience as a payroll processor or similar role within the construction industry. + Recent experience with prevailing wage work (certified payroll processing). + Utilization of LCP Tracker and/or the Department of Industrial Relations site. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations. + Multi-state payroll processing experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with JDE, HSCC, and other ERP systems. (must have) + Union and non-union payroll processing experience. (must have) + Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification. (preferred) Work Environment Office environment - work in office pods of 4. The team consists of 8 people performing payroll for the company nationwide. Standard hours are 8am-5pm. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
