Payroll Specialist
Job Requisition: REQ3500 Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Hours Per Week: 40 hours Hiring Range : $22.74- $30.41 The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. Responsibilities: + Responsible for the entry, maintenance, and ongoing audit of employee data and ensuring accurate data is prepared and entered timely for bi-weekly payroll processing. + Reconciliation of payroll information between EMR and timekeeping system on a regular basis to ensure accurate PTO balances, payouts, programs, and proper changes are in place. + Ensure smooth process flow within HR by working closely with various departments including Finance, Legal/Compliance and IT. + Provide guidance regarding pay component and work rule eligibility, employee status, and position related inquires. + Extract appropriate data from retirement plan record keeper and make appropriate changes in EMR/HRIS systems (i.e., 403(b), 457(b), 403(b) loans) timely and accurately. + Collaborate with payroll administrator to review timecard exception report for missing secondary jobs, and additional discrepancies between timekeeping system and HR records + Determine, calculate, and provide payroll processor with benefit adjustments, retros, and other corrections/adjustments to be processed each pay period by extracting necessary reports from benefit administration system. + Support documentation of user procedures, guidelines, and business processes. + High level review of manager sign-off forms regarding employee transfers and change in status to ensure proper setup in all EMR, timekeeping, and benefit administration systems (i.e., Non-exempt to exempt, FTE to PRN, PRN to benefit eligible, etc.). + Support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools, both on a regular and ad-hoc basis. + Special analysis and other projects/responsibilities may be assigned as business needs require. Additional Responsibilities: + Other duties as assigned. Education, Training & Experience: + Associates degree in accounting or human resources required, with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a payroll position. Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, HR, or related area preferred + Minimum of two (2) years related experience in combination with degree, or additional years of experience in lieu of degree + Payroll: + Experience with Kronos or other timekeeping system, preferred + Experience with Meditech Expanse and/or UKG highly preferred, or other HER Solution or HRIS system required + Proficiency in Payroll Law and ability to demonstrate knowledge required + Must possess integrity, discretion, and the ability to appropriately manage confidential, sensitive information, the ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented business environment and a flexible professional demeanor and self-directed work approach.
