As we continue toward our journey to being The Better Food Company, this role is key to our organization. As a Payroll Specialist you will provide Payroll administrative support to the organization. The responsibilities include processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for designated functions to ensure accurate, timely payments; approves new hires into the payroll system as well as status changes for existing employees. Additional responsibilities include employee relations and work on projects. Responsibilities Processes payroll which includes, maintaining and approving information in the payroll system; this may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information. Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions. Issues off-cycle checks as needed Reconcile and processes federal and state payroll tax payments paid by payroll vendor Processes status changes in the system based on submissions from location HR team members. Payroll related employee stock activities Payroll financial transactions reporting to Finance Maintains positive employee, vendor, and corporate relations. Completes special projects as assigned. Supports annual and tax projects for the company. Assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent; associates degree preferred. FPC or CPP certification a plus 3 years of payroll processing experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Ultimate Software experience preferred. Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Consistently performs more complex work/problem solving/day to day tasks. A “go to” resource among the team, sought out by others.
