Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Independence, MO
Salary: $55,000+
Schedule: 1 day a week remote work schedule available
Focus: As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the payroll function at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. You will work with the Senior Payroll Analyst to ensure the accuracy of time and attendance data and ensure inputs to the payroll process are validated and reconciled, prior to payroll processing. You will serve as a key contributor in ensuring compliance with pay practices and work to assist in developing and documenting process improvements.
Payroll Specialist Essential Job Functions:
Process bi-weekly payroll, including creating, correcting, and/or adjusting payroll entries. Validate and reconcile payroll processing by comparing timekeeping, HRIS and finance systems. Perform role of timekeeping lead including reviewing errors and time gap reporting. Administer pay-related aspect of leave of absence processes. Setup new hires and remove terminations from timekeeping and finance systems. Develop and document process improvements . Provide backup support for other Payroll personnel. Liaison between employees, supervisors, corporate teams, and Olin medical Support Human Resources to resolve employee payroll issues.Payroll Specialist Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree* preferred. 3 years payroll-related work experience; 5+ years preferred. Experience using Payroll systems: PeopleSoft/Workday, Shop Floor Time, and CostPoint preferred. Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word proficiency.Location-Specific Requirements:
Must have a valid US Driver’s License. This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required. This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
