Payroll Specialist
Description Job Summary: Join a Fortune 500 healthcare company that is committed to innovation, quality care, and employee development. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for a large and diverse employee base across multiple locations. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong understanding of payroll regulations within the healthcare industry. Key Responsibilities: + Process multi-state and multi-location payroll for salaried, hourly, and union employees, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements. + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. + Manage and maintain employee records, including tax forms, garnishments, and other deductions. + Resolve payroll discrepancies, inquiries, and issues from employees in a timely and professional manner. + Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure payroll-related data accuracy, including benefits, bonuses, and deductions. + Prepare and submit payroll reports, including tax filings, 401(k) contributions, and other required documentation. + Stay up to date with changes in payroll laws and regulations, ensuring the company's practices remain compliant. + Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 generation and other tax-related tasks. + Contribute to the development and implementation of payroll policies and best practices to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Requirements Qualifications: + Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a healthcare or large multi-location environment. + Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. + Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with advanced skills in formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis, and report generation to streamline payroll processing and ensure data accuracy. + Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, Ceridian, or similar platforms). + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with employees and management. + Professional certifications such as the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation are a plus.
