JOB DESCRIPTION
PAYROLL SPECIALIST: DETAILS
Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Murfreesboro TN
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: $25/hour
Type: Contract to hire
Hours: Standard business hours | Monday-Friday | 40 hours per week
Note: This is 100% onsite


REQUIREMENTS: PAYROLL SPECIALIST
* 2+ years of payroll experience
* Microsoft Excel skills and comprehension
* Ability to take ownership of duties and prioritize tasks
* Knowledge of gross to net payroll calculations and processes
* Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws preferred
* Experience with Sage 100 payroll preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES: PAYROLL SPECIALIST
* The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all tasks relating to payroll processing such as collecting timesheets, entering data, and preparing paychecks. The Payroll Specialist will process payroll for employees located in multiple states.
* Collecting and verifying timesheets
* Entering employee information and payroll data into the system
* Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, taxes, and deductions
* Preparing multiple weekly payrolls for salaries as well as hourly employees in multiple states
* Calculating and processing Federal and state payroll tax liabilities
* Preparing applicable tax returns and IRS forms as required
* Processing new employees, promotions, and terminations
* Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll questions
* Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
* Preparing periodic payroll reports
* Perform Reconciliations
