Job Description
Serve as a representative of the company, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the community, customers, and the public. Process payroll changes weekly, including bonus payments, commissions, director fees, and fringe benefits. Coordinate all applicable deductions to payroll, including required taxes, legal child support, levies, garnishments, employee contributions to insurance and 401K, etc. Administer legal deductions such as child support, garnishments, and voluntary contributions as requested by the agency. Audit and verify the accuracy of all payroll records for employees prior to payroll processing. Compile and submit all data for EFT as needed for vendors such as for the 401K. Complete year-end process to ensure tax compliance needs for several component companies are met. Audit quarterly and annual tax returns, making adjustments and corrections as necessary. Ensure legal compliance in completing all paperwork and inquiries concerning federal, state, and local laws regarding payroll. Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and internal audit controls as they relate to payroll. Assist on all payroll projects, updates, and changes in payroll provider to completion. Assist in annual audits for accounting. Provide data for accounting and other management as requested. Investigate, counsel, and resolve employee payroll issues.

The Payroll Specialist will work directly with the corporate Payroll Specialist and train with them. There is a separate payroll team that focuses on specific areas, but this role is corporate-specific. The company uses Epicor for ERP and UKG for HRIS/Payroll. The company has 1344 employees, with 1111 hourly and 232 salaried employees. They operate in multiple states, including AR, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, NC, OH, OK, TN, TX, WA, WI, and WV. MN, GA, and IL all have populations over 100. Payroll is processed entirely in-house. The position requires in-office work five days a week, with typical hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00
