Payroll Specialist Job Locations US-OH-Blue Ash ID 2025-15294 Overview

As a Payroll Specialist, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and with internal policies.  This position requires an in-depth knowledge of payroll procedures associated with supporting multistate and Canadian payroll functions, tax compliance regulations, accounting practices, and audit requirements.

 

This is a hybrid role: 3 days in the office is required 

 

Responsibilities Remain current on Federal, State and Local laws influencing payroll matters.Support finance reporting requirements, create ad-hoc reporting as needed.Process, monitor, manage and reconcile payroll at the employer/employee pay group level across all pay groups, US and Canada.Support and manage the Quarter and Year end functions across all pay groups for US and Canada.Support and maintain the payroll “playbook” for payroll accountabilities.Support month end procedures regarding all payroll control reconciliations partnering with the Finance team. Skills / Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field from a 4-year College or university; or 3-5 years related payroll experience and/or training.Attention to detail and accuracy; committed to excellence; continuously looks for improvement opportunities; ability to work independently; highly organized with excellent follow-up skills.Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.Strong analytical skills and experience.Excellent verbal & written communications & presentation skills.Ceridian expertise preferredSelf-motivated to take initiative and ownership on issues and identify when escalation is needed.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Must be able to work hybrid: in office 3 days a week
