Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Eugene, Oregon. Responsibilities: • Oversee payroll operations for employees located throughout the United States. • Handle complex payroll situations, especially during the busy season • Leverage QuickBooks for all payroll related tasks and operations. • Maintain and update records of all employees working in different states. • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. • Serve as a point of contact for payroll inquiries and resolve any customer issues. • Use Microsoft Excel to keep a track of payroll data and generate reports. • Work closely with state agencies, BLM, and forest service land during busy seasons. • Work with an outside CPA to address and resolve complex payroll questions. • Stay updated with state laws related to payroll and apply them as required Requirements • Proven experience in an in-house payroll position • Proficiency in multi-state payroll processing • Experience managing payroll for under 100 employees • High level of competency in QuickBooks software • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
