Payroll Specialist
Job Title: Payroll SpecialistJob Description Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for all employees. Maintain payroll records and ensure all employee information is up-to-date. Audit and review quarterly and annual tax filings. Create ad hoc payroll reports. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner. Responsibilities + Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees accurately and on time. + Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring all employee information is current. + Audit and review quarterly and annual tax filings for accuracy and compliance. + Create and generate ad hoc payroll reports as needed. + Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues promptly. + Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, tax laws, and other standards. Essential Skills + 3-5 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll processing role. + Proficiency in payroll software and MS Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPS. + In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards. + Excellent communication skills with a commitment to delivering high-quality service to employees. + Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information. + Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). + Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus. Work Environment The role can be based onsite at either the main manufacturing plant in New Ulm or the corporate office in Eden Prairie, with the flexibility to work from home two days a week and in the office three days a week. The finance manager currently handles payroll. The position involves managing payroll for both California and Minnesota, with payroll processing occurring weekly: one week for California and the next for Minnesota. The role will be 80% payroll and 20% HRIS reporting. The company offers flexible hours, a day shift, and provides full-time employees with benefits, a 401k plan, and an employee stock program. The company is growing, having recently acquired a company in California, and is 100% employee-owned. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
