Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for preparing and processing weekly payroll, ensuring the accurate setup and maintenance of employee records, and handling various payroll-related tasks in a multistate and multibrand environment.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and process weekly payroll and complete final balancing of assigned pay groups.Ensure accurate setup of newly hired employees and ongoing maintenance of existing employees in HR systems.Verify accuracy of approved timesheets.Accurately process and document employee changes.Systematically load commission, stipend, and bonus payments with a focus on timeliness and accuracy.Process stop payment and off-cycle paycheck corrections as needed and ensure bank processing via positive pay notification.Calculate and process manual check corrections for overpayments and tax adjustments.Process garnishments and levies in accordance with federal and state requirements.Create a variety of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports as needed.Analyze current payroll policies and procedures and proactively recommend enhancements to management.Stay abreast of leading trends, best practices, laws, rules, and regulations related to payroll.Administer completion of verification of employment (VOE) requests.Respond to inquiries, counsel, and resolve colleague payroll and time issues.Provide excellent customer service to all customers, including colleagues, consultants, and associates.Essential Skills1-2+ years of payroll processing experience.Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and V-lookups.Experience with payroll adjustments and payroll tax.Experience with multi-state payroll processing.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent.Work Environment
This position is office-based, requiring attendance five days a week. The company offers a great team environment with opportunities for growth in other departments.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
