Description We are offering contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Walnut Creek, California. This role is pivotal in our accounting department, focusing on processing Union and Certified payroll with a team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for handling union payroll, tracking and posting certified payroll, auditing both, and handling a variety of accounting functions. Responsibilities: • Administering union payroll and generating relevant reports • Tracking and posting of certified payroll • Handling multiple projects which can vary in number • Dealing with multiple unions across different states, primarily in California • Utilizing Excel for various tasks including pivot table functions • Auditing of payroll and accounting functions • Administering benefits and 401k - RRSP • Utilising payroll systems, with a preference for those familiar with LCP Tracker or DIR systems/portals • Working cooperatively within a team of five, including a Payroll Manager Requirements • Proficiency in 401k - RRSP Administration • Experienced with About Time software • Ability to handle Accounting Functions • Proficient in Auditing procedures • Familiarity with Benefit Functions • Experience with Payroll - Union • Knowledge of Certified Payroll procedures • Proficient in Microsoft Excel • Experience in preparing Union Reports Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
