Description Robert Half is partnered with a leading industrial services company in Baton Rouge in search of a payroll specialist. Responsibilities: • Monitor and maintain payroll data, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate • Compile detailed reports encompassing earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages • Calculate payroll liabilities, including employee federal and state income, social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll • Respond to inquiries and requests related to payroll • Uphold payroll operations by adhering to policies and procedures • Ensure the confidentiality of all payroll operations to maintain employee trust • Collaborate with the team to achieve related results as required • Carry out any additional tasks assigned to fulfill the role. Requirements • Have a robust understanding and practical knowledge of payroll systems, specifically ADP Payroll. • Proven experience in using Ceridian for payroll processing. • Demonstrable ability to manage all aspects of payroll operations. • Display a comprehensive understanding of payroll-related tax laws and regulations. • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion. • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies. • Exceptional focus on detail and high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial and payroll information. • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to handle queries related to payroll. • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
