Description
Robert Half is looking for a Payroll Specialist for our client in Omaha, NE. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be entrusted with the crucial task of managing payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment distribution, and maintaining compliance with government regulations. The role involves a significant amount of attention to detail and problem-solving skills, as you will be required to address and resolve payroll-related inquiries swiftly.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Manage and administer the business registration process for new States and Localities for payroll tax accounts.
• Prepare and review payroll documentation to ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Handle and resolve employee payroll issues.
• Collaborate with the team to promote and implement continuous process improvement in the payroll processes.
• Respond to and correspond with State, Federal, and/or local government institutions on tax notices.
• Prepare reports for management as needed.
• Verify payroll tax accuracy and state compliance.
• Reconcile W-2s and prepare bi-weekly journal entries and month end accruals for payroll, PTO, commissions, and bonuses.
• Prepare reporting requirements for state incentive programs.
• Support audit tasks related to payroll accounting, 401K, and payroll tax activity.
• Coordinate with and support the Human Resources department with payroll-related activities/matters.
Requirements
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
• Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems for payroll processing.
• Ability to handle Accounting Functions with proficiency.
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP).
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Auditing processes.
• Ability to manage Benefit Functions related to payroll.
• Experience with ADP - Payroll for managing payroll services.
• Knowledge of Multistate Payroll processing is essential.
• Proficient in Payroll management and execution.
• Experience in handling Payroll of over 1000+ Employees.
• Excel is a must.
• Ability to Reconcile Payroll discrepancies.
• Experience in managing Year-end Payroll processes.
• Proficiency in using Paycom software for payroll management is required.
