Payroll Specialist
Description Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity within the property management industry. This role will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring accuracy in employee compensation, and managing bonus and commission structures. Experience with Paycom is a plus but not required. Key Responsibilities: + Payroll Processing: Manage full-cycle payroll processing on a bi-weekly or semi-monthly basis for employees within a single-state operation. + Bonus & Commission Calculations: Accurately calculate and process bonuses, commissions, and other incentive-based pay according to company policies. + Data Verification & Compliance: Ensure payroll data, including hours worked, deductions, and tax withholdings, is accurate and compliant with federal and state labor laws. + Payroll Adjustments: Process off-cycle payments, retroactive pay, and corrections as needed. + Employee Support: Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing clear explanations and resolving discrepancies promptly. + Reporting & Reconciliation: Prepare payroll reports for management, reconcile payroll records, and assist with internal audits. + Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy through best practices and technology. Requirements Qualifications: + Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the property management or real estate industries. + Bonus/Commission Processing: Strong background in handling bonuses, commissions, and performance-based pay calculations. + Software Proficiency: Experience with Paycom is a plus but not required; must be comfortable working with payroll software. + Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure payroll accuracy. + Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of payroll laws, tax compliance, and wage regulations. + Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with employees and management regarding payroll matters. + Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
