Payroll Specialist
Description We are seeking an experienced payroll specialist with a strong background in construction payroll, including certified payroll and union payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have expertise in handling prevailing wage compliance, processing multi-state payroll, and ensuring accuracy in payroll tax reporting. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong knowledge of payroll regulations, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities: Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employees in the construction industry. Ensure certified payroll reporting compliance with state and federal regulations. Handle multi-state payroll processing, including proper taxation and compliance. Review and reconcile prevailing wage reports and union benefits contributions. Maintain accurate payroll records, including garnishments, deductions, and direct deposit changes. Prepare and submit DIR (Department of Industrial Relations) reports. Assist with payroll audits and provide necessary documentation to external auditors. Ensure compliance with union agreements, collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), and labor compliance regulations. Work with HR and accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy and proper reporting. Stay up to date with changing payroll laws, union requirements, and tax regulations. Qualifications: 3+ years of payroll experience, with a focus on construction payroll. Experience processing certified payroll and union payroll. Knowledge of prevailing wage laws and multi-state payroll regulations. Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, Viewpoint, or Foundation Software is preferred. Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance and wage and hour laws. Ability to handle high-volume payroll processing efficiently. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
