Payroll Specialist
Job Title: Payroll SpecialistJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to process bi-weekly payroll for all employees. The ideal candidate will maintain and update payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. The role also includes preparing and distributing payroll reports to management, handling employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, and coordinating with HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate employee data. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will manage payroll deductions, benefits, and garnishments. Essential Skills + Payroll experience + Experience with Kronos/UKG Pro WFM and Workday highly preferred Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with union contracts preferred Work Environment The position is primarily remote, requiring onsite presence 2-3 days a month to support the off-cycle check process. The company is transitioning to UKG Pro WFM from an older version of Kronos, and there may be an expectation to come onsite to process payroll together as a team when the new system goes live. Work hours are flexible, with the earliest start time at 6:30am and the latest end time at 4:40pm. Payroll processing starts at 6:30am on payroll days, and the Monday before payroll typically involves extended hours for timecard adjustments. Parking is available for approximately $3/day in a parking ramp across the street. The biweekly payroll processing covers roughly 3,000 employees. The process is fairly automated, and new hires will shadow a tenured employee for training. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
