Payroll Specialist
Description Overview: Robert Half is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Full-Time Engagement Professionals (FTEP) practice. As an employee of Robert Half deployed to assist our clients, you will provide critical payroll expertise in a variety of project-based assignments, such as leave of absence (LOA) coverage, software implementations, backlog cleanups, and other special payroll-related projects. Key Responsibilities: + Payroll Processing and Support: + Accurately manage payroll for clients in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. + Process multi-state payroll, including new hires, terminations, and payroll adjustments. + Manage timekeeping systems and ensure accurate data entry for payroll runs. + Leave of Absence (LOA) Coverage: + Step in during clients' employee leave periods to ensure seamless payroll operations. + Act as the primary liaison for payroll-related inquiries and troubleshooting during the LOA coverage period. + Software Implementation Assistance: + Collaborate with clients during payroll software implementations, ensuring successful deployment. + Provide testing, configuration, and data migration expertise as needed for payroll platforms. + Backlog Cleanup Projects: + Analyze and reconcile payroll records to resolve discrepancies and backlogs. + Assist with compliance audits and reporting to align with regulatory and organizational requirements. + Special Projects: + Engage in client-specific projects as needed, such as compliance reviews or process improvement initiatives. + Apply expertise to enhance client payroll functions, workflows, and best practices. Requirements + 3+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing. + Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Kronos, Paychex, or similar). + Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards. + Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to balance multiple client projects. + Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to different clients' processes and systems. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both internal teams and client stakeholders.
