Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Golden Valley, Minnesota, in the Marketing/PR industry. This role involves processing payroll and maintaining employee records while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities: • Accurately process new employee paperwork and ensure all changes to employee records are applied in the payroll system. • Execute payroll on a regular basis, including timesheet data entry, calculations, and processing of manual check runs. • Provide excellent customer service in accordance with company standards. • Handle child support, garnishment, and tax levy orders and payments. • Oversee the correct withholding of insurance and benefit deductions from employee payroll checks. • Manage employee paid time off plan. • Ensure all payroll-related documents are properly stored within the electronic data storage system. • Maintain effective communication and collaboration across multiple departments. Requirements • Proven experience in a payroll specialist role within the Marketing/PR industry • Exceptional skills in data entry, including high-volume data entry • Proficiency in numeric data entry tasks • Strong communication skills to liaise with various departments and external parties • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion • Familiarity with payroll software and systems • Attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines • Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations • Basic understanding of accounting principles • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
