Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in the IT Construction industry, located in Rockville, MD. As a Payroll Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in managing the payroll process, ensuring accurate records, and handling employee inquiries related to payroll. You will report to the Accounting Manager and collaborate closely with the HR department for accurate data input and report preparation.
Responsibilities:
+ Handle the payroll process for a diverse team, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
+ Manage comprehensive payroll records, including details of employee hours, benefits, and deductions.
+ Apply necessary adjustments to payroll such as overtime, bonuses, and retroactive pay.
+ Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
+ Address and resolve employee inquiries related to tax withholdings, deductions, and benefits.
+ Collaborate with the HR department to confirm and input accurate employee data and onboarding details into the payroll system.
+ Prepare and submit comprehensive payroll reports for management review and regulatory compliance.
+ Administer 401k - RRSP and other benefit functions.
+ Use accounting software systems and foundation software for executing full cycle payroll and accounting functions.
+ Handle payroll for multiple entities and across multiple states
+ Handle certified payroll and union benefits reporting
Requirements
+ 1-3 years of experience working as a Payroll Specialist or in a related role involving payroll processing and administration.
+ Understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance standards to ensure accurate and lawful payroll management.
+ Hands-on experience with certified payroll processing and union benefits reporting.
+ Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel, with familiarity in Foundations or comparable systems being a plus.
+ Strong analytical abilities, with a keen focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Excellent organizational skills, with the capability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills, particularly in responding to employee payroll inquiries.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive payroll information.
