Description We are offering a short-term contract for a Payroll Specialist in Bell Gardens, California. This role involves intricate payroll duties, working closely with internal teams, and ensuring accurate processing of customer applications. Responsibilities: • Handle and input CalPERS Open Enrollment modifications in payroll and benefits systems • Construct payroll reconciliation documents and implement necessary payroll modifications • Employ Excel, Eden Tyler, and PERS software for efficient payroll processing, adjustments, and reconciliations • Assess payroll data for precision and compliance with public sector regulations • Detect and rectify payroll discrepancies promptly and effectively • Verify the accurate processing and reconciliation of employee benefits and payroll deductions • Cooperate with internal departments to support payroll and benefits administration • Uphold organized and precise payroll records. Requirements + Proficiency in Excel (formulas, data organization, and reconciliation). + Experience using Eden Tyler and PERS software preferred. + Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies. + Familiarity with accounting software and payroll reconciliation processes. + Ability to work independently and manage time-sensitive payroll tasks efficiently. + Public sector or municipal payroll experience is a plus but not required. + Work schedule flexibility is required to meet operational needs.
