Payroll Specialist
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Houston, Texas. This role is in the construction industry and will involve handling payroll processes for employees across multiple states. The workplace is a dynamic setting where you will be expected to ensure adherence to all applicable payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance standards. Responsibilities: • Oversee the complete payroll process for employees in diverse locations, making sure of the accuracy and timely delivery of payments, deductions, and adjustments. • Uphold compliance with all levels of tax laws, including federal, state, and local, taking into account withholding, unemployment, and other statutory obligations. • Resolve any mismatch or discrepancies related to tax filings. • Update and maintain the records in the payroll system, including employee profiles, tax elections, and benefits deductions. • Monitor the accuracy of various system integrations, ensuring all data aligns correctly. • Utilize your skills in Full Cycle Payroll, Sage Intacct, and Multi-state Payroll to streamline and improve our payroll processes. • Maintain a high level of confidentiality while handling payroll data. • Analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Actively support the payroll department, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment. • Seek opportunities for growth and continue to build your detail-oriented expertise in payroll. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years experience in a payroll position • Proficiency in Full Cycle Payroll • Proficient in using Sage Intacct software • Experience in handling Multi-state Payroll • Prior experience in the construction industry • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent time management skills • Good understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) • Excellent problem-solving skills • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.
