Description A respected organization in Oceanside, CA is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist who can ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with comprehensive knowledge of payroll systems, policies, and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities: + Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees, including overtime and bonuses. + Ensure payroll deductions (e.g., benefits, garnishments, and taxes) are accurate and properly calculated. + Review and analyze payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. + Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax filings and reporting. + Prepare and submit reports related to payroll, such as payroll tax returns or labor cost summaries. + Reconcile payroll accounts to the general ledger for accurate reporting. + Respond to employee inquiries about payroll and benefits deductions promptly and professionally. + Manage the onboarding of new employees related to payroll, including setting up direct deposits and tax withholdings. Requirements + Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. + Experience: 2+ years of payroll processing experience; familiarity with multi-state payroll is a plus. + Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, or Ceridian) and strong Excel skills. + Certifications: FPC or CPP certification is a plus but not required. + Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and communication abilities, with a focus on confidentiality and accuracy.
