Description Robert Half is partnering with a trailblazing biotech firm to find a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist. Responsibilities: + Process payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and contract employees accurately and on time, adhering to the firm’s multi-state or federal compliance requirements. + Manage employee records, including tax withholdings, benefits deductions, garnishments, and wage adjustments. + Carry out and confirm bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll processes using industry-leading payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, or Paycom). + Reconcile payroll-related accounts and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with HR and Finance teams. + Prepare and submit quarterly and annual payroll taxes and reports, including W-2s and 1099s. + Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, or deductions. + Stay updated with the latest payroll laws, policies, and compliance practices, particularly within the biotech sector. + Support internal audits and ensure payroll data integrity. Requirements + Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred. Payroll certification (e.g., CPP – Certified Payroll Professional) is a plus. + Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience, preferably within the biotech or related industries. + Advanced knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, or Paylocity) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP). + Expertise in multi-state payroll and compliance requirements, coupled with exceptional organizational skills. + Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, paired with a high level of integrity to handle confidential information.
