Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Payroll Specialist to join our client's dynamic team on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for contract employees, maintaining compliance with legal standards, and providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
In this position, you will leverage your expertise in payroll systems, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to support our fast-paced business operations. This role will require strong organizational skills, the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially, and experience in resolving payroll-related issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Process accurate and timely payroll for a high volume of contract employees, adhering to deadlines and applicable payroll laws and regulations.
+ Maintain payroll records by reviewing and verifying timesheets, pay adjustments, direct deposit details, and other relevant data.
+ Address payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information, identifying and resolving issues to ensure satisfactory outcomes for both employees and the organization.
+ Collaborate with internal teams such as Human Resources, Compliance, and Finance to ensure accurate processing and reporting of payroll-related data.
+ Manage tax forms, garnishments, and other deductions while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
+ Respond promptly to payroll-related inquiries from contract employees and supervisors, providing solutions and clarifications as needed.
+ Audit payroll records regularly to ensure accuracy in payments and system entries.
+ Monitor changes to payroll regulations and policies to maintain compliance at all times.
+ Participate in process improvement initiatives to optimize payroll functions and enhance efficiency.
+ Generate and distribute payroll reports for internal stakeholders on a scheduled or ad hoc basis.
Requirements
+ 3+ years of experience as a payroll specialist
+ Proficient in payroll processing systems such as ADP, Workday, or Paylocity.
+ Advanced knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
+ Excellent customer service and communication abilities with the capability to handle sensitive payroll inquiries tactfully.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (experience with pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc., is desirable).
+ Proven ability to prioritize tasks, work tight deadlines, and handle confidential information responsibly.
