Summary
The Payroll Specialist International is responsible for the calculation and payment of accurate wages and salaries to our international employees. Oversee wage attachments to include set up, follow up, and working with third party vendor to ensure timely and accurate payments.
Primary Duties
Review employee timesheet submissions to ensure pay practices for each location are being followed per HR policy. Calculate special adjustments, such as temporary upgrades, jury, and/or military pay. Review weekly and biweekly payroll batches for assigned group of employees in the time entry system, import the time into the payroll system, and verify that system totals equal batch totals. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies. Run reports to ensure that time off taken have not exceeded employee balances. Calculate partial benefit accruals for new hire and terminated employees and adjust balances as necessary. Complete wage and salary information forms as required by employees or governmental authorities (i.e., mortgage applications, worker’s compensation, domestic relations, Social Security Administration, unemployment). Run reports requested and needed by internal partners. Complete weekly payroll checklists to ensure accuracy, and to document process controls and approvals. Prepare manual checks as needed and print live checks via Ultimate Software. Responsible for wage attachments to include set up, follow up, and working with third party vendor to ensure timely and accurate Act as back up to the payroll tax analyst during high volumes and absences. Act as back up for ACH to reconcile and send ACH files to the bank. Provide customer service by researching and resolving questions regarding the interpretation of payroll policies and procedures, calculation of overtime, retroactive pay, vacation, garnishments, and other related matters. Investigate payroll records and provide justification for calculations such as effective dates, receipt dates, authorizations, etc. Perform special projects and other payroll duties as assigned. Assist with all yearend activities, including the audit of employee year-end data for W-2 processing and distribution. Assist with all yearend activities, including the audit of employee year-end data for T-4 processing and distribution for our Canada entity.Working Relationships
The Payroll Specialist International reports to the Director of Payroll.
Compensation
The initial hourly rate of pay will range from $34.00 - $39.00.
Job Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education: Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Years of Experience: Three years of international payroll experience including international taxes, garnishments, exception time off rules, terminations, new hires, and job cost. Experience with calculation and processing of various wage attachments. Preferred Experience: Five years of international payroll experience including international taxes, garnishments, exception time off rules, terminations, new hires, and job cost. Licenses/Certification: CPP Software/Equipment Knowledge: Ten Key and Microsoft Excel Ultimate Software and various Time and Attendance payroll systems (Preferred) Other Considerations: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Attention to detail, works well in a team environment, and able to maintain payroll confidentiality in working relationships throughout NAES and with clients.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Normal working hours are 8:00 am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Extended hours may be required based on specific requirements. Work is performed at an established home office environment or headquarter office.
Fit for Duty
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
