The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with local payroll regulations, and providing support for payroll-related inquiries. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and knowledge of payroll software and regulations.
About the role
You will be accountable for:
Process Payroll: prepare and process monthly payroll, compensation campaigns for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Time Management: review time&attendance data, work hours, and time-off requests to ensure accurate payroll calculations.
Compliance: ensure payroll activities comply with local laws, including tax and labor regulations.
Reporting & Documentation: prepare payroll reports, maintain records, and respond to audit requests.
Employee Support: address payroll-related questions and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Benefits Administration Support: coordinate with the HR/Benefit team to process benefits deductions, garnishments, and other adjustments.
Continuous Improvement: recommend and implement improvements to payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Cooperate with Social Insurance Consultant: support the social insurance related matters and submit required documentations in the timely manners
On boarding/ off boarding process : provide new hire and retirement orientation when needed.
About you
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience;
Competencies:
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, SAP).
Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax laws.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Advanced English and Japanese levels

About the pay and benefits
Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Japan base pay reasonably expected for this role is 6,552,240 to 8,190,300, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
