Payroll Supervisor

Title: Payroll Supervisor 
Location: Clayton, MO

Salary: $82,900+
Schedule: Hybrid schedule available of up to 1 day remote per week

Focus: This exciting role will oversee and direct our Payroll Processing Specialists, providing guidance on hurdles encountered during payroll processing and serving as a payroll processing expert who will consistently look for opportunities to lighten the load of our payroll tasks, while ensuring compliance with Olin’s policies and procedures, internal controls and within applicable federal and state wage and tax laws. You will join a dynamic team that supports all United States payroll processing.


Payroll Supervisor Essential Job Functions: Manage the payroll department’s daily operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of payrolls. Lead, direct, evaluate, coach and develop team of Payroll Specialists. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the payroll team. Manage the payroll processing of weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payrolls. Prepare and provide support reports and information for various management levels. Analyze current payroll practices and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation. Assure that payroll problems are addressed in a timely and efficient manner. Resolve differences as needed. On a regular and continuous basis, interface directly with employees, leaders, outside firms and governmental agencies regarding payroll-related issues and discrepancies. Payroll Supervisor Minimum Requirements: Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:   High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years payroll experience and a minimum of 7 years supervisory experience; OR, Bachelor's Degree*; emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Management preferred; must have a minimum of 5 years payroll experience and a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills Must possess extensive working knowledge of payroll rules and regulations as well as with union contract agreements Must be able to prioritize work and deadlines and possess multi-tasking abilities to meet reoccurring and strict deadlines Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers and management within areas of responsibility. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management. Ability to travel up to 25%. This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required. This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. To meet the government-facility requirements, the candidate must be a US citizen.
