Payroll Supervisor

Amentum seeks a **Payroll Supervisor** to supervise and coordinates activities of workers engaged in recording hours of work, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records and calculating payroll for Amentum. **This is a remote-telework role. US Citizenship is required.** **Principal Accountabilities:** + Supervises and assists payroll staff in the daily transactional processing of payroll to ensure employees are paid accurately and timely, reports filed timely and systems performing nominally. + Assigns duties and reviews assigned work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures. + Maintains payroll related accounts and ensures that ledgers are accurate and reconciled for payroll related accounts. + Performs functional testing of payroll systems to support Business Technology in performance of system upgrades and revisions to ensure payroll modules are working nominally. + Provides guidance and information to the Payroll Manager and assists in responding to Corporate, Defense Contracting Audit Agency (DCAA) and other outside entities requiring financial data. + Prepares various accounting papers, schedules exhibits, reconciliation, and summaries in accordance accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and various laws. + Researches and advises upper management concerning accounting treatment of complex transactions to ensure compliance with standards set forth by corporate, Financial Management, federal, state and local authorities. + Prepares, reviews, and/or approves transactions for timely submittal to support financial activity through the payroll system. + Advises Amentum staff concerning financial systems access and processes to facilitate interaction with payroll systems. + Prepares off-cycle paychecks and reconciliations. + Studies, standardize and document processes and procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates. + Addresses complaints to proper people and if necessary adjusts errors within payroll systems. + Troubleshoots any issues assigned specifically to that segment of payroll processing. + Recommends assigned staff for training and sufficient resources to obtain established departmental goals and company objectives. **Knowledge and Skills:** + Knowledge of accounting that includes spreadsheets and relational data bases programs for data processing techniques. + Knowledge of various computer applications (ex: Word, Excel, etc.). + Good communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills. + Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and General Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP). + Effective decision making and problem solving. + PeopleSoft experience preferred. **Experience and Education:** + Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years in related field can be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college. + Four (4) years experience in computerized payroll software.
