Job Summary
The Payroll Supervisor supervises and oversees daily payroll processing operations to ensure all payments are accurate and timely. This role ensures compliance with all audit standards, regulatory agencies and Company policy.
Essential Functions
Supervises entire payroll process from time-keeping load files to check distribution to ensure payments are accurate and timely. Ensures compliance with all audit standards, regulatory agencies and Company policies.Works with facilities and internal departments to research and resolve problems that have been escalated. Identifies, researches and resolves payroll system issues.Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively with all areas to provide seamless service excellence.Leads, develops, coaches, and trains Support Center payroll staff in technical and analytical skills development. Guides staff when handling service requests to respond in a manner that provides excellent customer service.Reviews tax balancing, audit/error reports, and general processing procedures. Reviews and approves manual checkoff cycles. Oversees processing of employee transfers, rehires, and allocations. Ensures consistent application of payroll practices and procedures; DOL/IRS/Treasury requirements (e.g., state payout rules, etc.); gives direction to field personnel on payroll related issues. Resolves or escalates issues from the field as necessary. Serves as subject matter expert with Support Center payroll staff, PBCs, field training, field personnel, and other internal department needs (HR, etc.).Regular and reliable attendance.Perform other duties as assigned.Additional Information
Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.Exhibit a [comprehensive] understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise the work of others, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing productivity. May offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments, but do not have final responsibility for making these decisions.

Education
High School diploma or GED required.Experience
5 years in a payroll departmentExperience with SAP, Framework, and Kronos systems.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Expert knowledge of payroll and/or time and attendance function. Report writing skills.Good organizational and communication skills.Ability to self-direct and self-pace under the pressure of deadlines.Depending on a candidate’s qualifications, this role may be filled at a different level.
